A small pond and channel provide access to the hidden waters of Black Pond and Little Black Pond. Trails provide access to Long Pond and Jenkins Mt.
Distance: 1 mile
Access: North side of Keese Mill Road near the outlet of Lower St. Regis Lake. A DEC-built canoe launch provides access for non-motorized boats.
Description: Black Pond is well-known for its Rainbow and Brook Trout, but paddlers will also enjoy it's typically quiet waters. Note the steep esker formation that flanks its western shore; it is a continuation of the esker found on the far northwestern shore of Upper St. Regis Lake. A trail from the parking area follows the bottom of this formation north until it reaches Long Pond and eventually the trail to Jenkins Mt.
