Tupper Lake

Defining Adirondack Wilderness,
Tupper Lake has been a center for Adirondack Recreation for over 100 years. Surrounded by magnificent forest, sprinkled liberally with palatial lakes, winding rivers and sparkling brooks, it is the perfect base camp for hiking, canoeing, fishing and nature watching.

The Wild Center

The Wild Center is the Adirondacks newest museum where the wild world of the Adirondacks opens before your eyes.  An indoor river with waterfalls, a glacial wall, high definition theater, wild animals including the famous river otters and hands on action everywhere you turn.  Named one of the Top 11 things to do in New York State, the Wild Centereven has its own pond, riverfront and hiking loops.

Historic Beth Joseph Synagogue

Beth Joseph is the oldest Synagogue in the Adirondacks, and one of few synagogues outside of New York City listed in the register of New York State Historic Buildings. Built in 1905, the origins of Beth Joseph Synagogue stem from the late 1800's, when Jewish immigrants from Russia and eastern Europe arrived in America.

The earliest Jewish settlers in the Adirondacks came first as peddlers. Beth Joseph was the focal point of Tupper Lake's Jewish community.
